Musician, Teacher, Liver Transplant Survivor


Sungrai Sohn, violinist and conductor, is founder and first violinist of the Laurentian String Quartet, which has performed annually in major concert halls throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the  Far East. and has also toured in North Africa under the auspices of the United States Department of State.

Sungrai will perform favorite violin works and also show a film, “To Have and To Give” by David Esposito, his brother-in-law and his living-donor, which documents their journey through the organ-transplant experience in 2001. The film also highlights
his life as a musician, and as an individual able to maintain peace and optimism, despite years of illness and uncertainty.
