This class is a 4-part series. Local artist, Joyce Byrnes, is a member of the Nyack Art Collective and the Pastel Society of America. Her work is held in private collections and has been exhibited in galleries, restaurants and libraries in Rockland County. She currently oversees Operations and Membership at the Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center in Nyack. This beginner's class will include individual instruction and demonstration in basic pastel techniques. We will go over materials used (different types of pastels and surfaces) and how to make dramatic paintings working from photographs (strong composition and values).
